Tee up for the disabled at Sanctuary Lakes golf course

Golfers are being urged to sign up for a charity golf day to help western suburbs people with disabilities.

The event at Sanctuary Lakes golf course on March 13 will support the Werribee-based not-for-profit organisation, Mambourin, which provides services and supported employment for people with disabilities.

Its clients are employed by various local businesses, including Sanctuary Lakes Resort Services, which uses one of the Mambourin gardening teams to maintain the grounds of Sanctuary Lakes.

Mambourin chief executive Rohan Braddy says the golf day helps make a difference.

“This event raises much-needed funds which are used to improve the lives of people with disabilities in our western suburbs,” he says.

The competition is an Ambrose team event with prizes for handicap and non-handicap winners and runners-up.

There will also be prizes for longest drive and nearest the pin in each category.

The day will start with a performance by the Mambourin choir and will also feature dinner, raffles and a silent auction.

Anyone interested in taking part in the event, or sponsoring the day should phone 9034 2100.
