Truganina: Go for parkrun for fun and fitness at Arndell Park

Every Saturday morning while many are still enjoying a sleep-in, a growing number of people are kickstarting their weekends with a five-kilometre run as part of a free and fun community fitness and wellbeing project.

Started in England in 2004, Parkruns were brought to Australia in 2011 and are now held every weekend at Arndell Park in Truganina, attracting everybody from Olympic athletes to walkers and those simply trying to stay healthy.

Among those taking part in Saturday’s first birthday celebrations will be Nicki Curtis with her children Zara and Hugh and Debbie Carter and her son Alex.

The run starts at 8am with registrations from 7.30am.
