Make clothes by hand

Learn the basic hand stitching techniques to make your own clothes without a sewing machine. This two-hour workshop will cover needle and thread basics, running stitches, back-stitching and hemming. It’s at Wyndham Vale Community Learning Centre, 86 Manor Lakes Boulevard, Wyndham Vale, on Saturday, December 6 at 10am.

Overeaters Anonymous

Movember fund-raiser

Werribee and Hoppers Crossing cricket clubs are hosting a charity T20 cricket match on November 30, to raise money for the Movember Foundation. It’s at Chirnside Park from noon.

MS volunteers needed

The Multiple Sclerosis Community Visitors Scheme needs volunteers to join its program in the western metropolitan area, visiting elderly residents in aged-care facilities once a fortnight.

Internet for seniors

Seniors can access two internet kiosks at 15 Perkins Avenue, Hoppers Crossing, every Saturday from 10am as part of the federal government’s Broadband for Seniors program. Sessions last for 40 minutes.
