The council in Werribee has a lot to answer for in recent years.
Grafitti in Werribee has hit a new low. Look to your left and right while driving up and down Market Road, past the old carpet factory, the Telstra building, traffic lights, residents’ private property … what a disgrace!
The app Snap, Send and Solve which is linked to the Wyndham City Council (and was welcomed by me initially) has done little to help the situation.
Most every notification placed is rejected and users of the app are told to contact the power company, the bus company, or the private owners of the property that has grafitti. Kind of defeats the purpose of the app in the first place!
We are young ratepayers renovating, raising a family and living in Werribee, and are constantly bombarded with ugly grafitti and a general lack of pride in our community.
Something must be done about the extreme amounts of grafitti in Werribee and the council (which would regularly travel up and down Market Road) should be more proactive in ridding the local community from this depressing sight we are all subjected to daily.
Perhaps we could host artists to professionally grafitti walls and buildings up and down Market Road.
The grafitists seem to respect good quality work and leave it alone.
