Wyndham residents experienced one of India’s most popular festivals, Diwali, on Saturday.
People flocked to Wyndham Vale’s Presidents Park for the colourful event, which featured performances by traditional Diwali Indian dancers, including Abhigna Gandam, as well as ballet and Bollywood dancers.
Jazz, salsa, rock and bhangra bands from across the western suburbs took to the stage to celebrate Wyndham’s cultural diversity.
Festival artistic director Archana Koorthy said the aim of Wyndham Diwali was to promote the message that the “world is one family”.
