Wyndham Suns will become the 25th Western Region Football League senior club next year.
The Suns had juniors in the WRFL last season but were officially welcomed into the senior ranks at the league’s presentation night last Friday.
“Wyndham Suns Football Club is looking forward to starting in the WRFL in division 3 and eager to work our way through success and promotion to division 1,” Suns president Graeme Clarke said.
“It’s fantastic to have our seniors come over to join our juniors and become one whole club. We’re really excited.”
The Suns, who will play out of Goddard Street Reserve in Tarneit, will strengthen the shallow third tier. They’ll be the seventh club in the new division.
“The league is delighted … we look forward to growing the third division and football in Melbourne’s west in 2015 and beyond,” WRFL chief executive Bob Tregear said.
