Jamieson Way Community Centre turns pink for cancer support

Pink lady silhouettes will adorn the walls of Point Cook’s Jamieson Way Community Centre this month as the centre turns pink to raise money for a breast cancer support group.

The centre will also donate money from its community market on Sunday, October 5 to Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The support group helps women battling breast cancer by providing them with information about the disease and its treatments.

It also connects women with others battling the disease. Jamieson Way Community Centre’s Carlie Hoffman says the centre started the fundraiser a few years ago after a centre user was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“We just wanted to raise awareness of breast cancer and the work the Breast Cancer Network does and raise as much money as possible for them,” she said.

The market will be held from 9am to 2pm. Visit: www.jamiesonwaycc.org.au
