Tarneit’s Dante Di Marco will put on his walking shoes this week as he strives to take as many steps as possible to help research into childhood diseases.
The 11-year-old has signed up for the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s fund-raising step-a-thon, which encourages children to secure sponsorship for every step they take from September 1 to 7.
Dante says he’s taking part because he’s passionate about helping other children in need. He hopes to raise $2000.
“I just want to help … the money I raise will be used to find a cure for a special child,” he said.
Dante’s mother, Jo says she’s proud that he’s trying to help other children while battling Tourette’s syndrome and autism spectrum disorder himself.
