Yell scares off indecent exposure man in Werribee

Police are hunting for a man who indecently exposed himself to a girl in Werribee on her way home from school.

The incident happened about 3.45pm on Tuesday, August 12.

Detectives have been told that the 12-year-old girl had got off her school bus on Queensbury Way when the man started walking behind her.

As the girl approached the intersection of Queensbury Way and Westminster Drive, a nearby resident noticed that the man was performing a sex act while following her.

The resident then yelled at the man, alerting the girl to the fact that she was being followed.

Police said the man then fled in the direction of a floodway at the end of Queensbury Parade.

Detectives from Footscray’s sexual offences and child abuse investigations team are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.

They are appealing for help to identify a man who was seen in the area at the time and is described as Caucasian, balding and of medium build.

He was wearing a green top, grey pants and a light-coloured jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
