NPL: Werribee City still under relegation threat

Werribee City has again been dragged into the National Premier League relegation mix after an unfavourable weekend of results.

The Bees didn’t help their own cause, losing 1-0 to Oakleigh Cannons at Galvin Park on Sunday.

The six-point buffer they enjoyed over sides in the relegation zone was slashed to three after Ballarat Red Devils upset Hume City.

The Bees and Red Devils will meet at Morshead Park Stadium on Saturday in a game that could have massive implications.

Hoppers Crossing dominated the second half to beat lowly Laverton Park 3-0 in State League 4, while Point Cook played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Sebastopol.

Truganina Hornets continued their promotion push in State League 5 with a 5-3 win over Melbourne Lions in Maribyrnong.
