Tipping point
Fantastic that the kids at St Peter the Apostle Primary School recognise the damage the waste mountain is doing to Wyndham (Class action for ‘ugly’ tip, Star Weekly, July 7).
It’s a pity our councillors lack such clear vision in aggressively supporting this debacle.
The tip is here to stay, but we have ample quarry space to keep it at ground level and minimise problems.
When will Wyndham councillors start listening to the community?

Doggone relief
I would like to thank the kind person who found my daughter’s black Labrador wandering between Tarneit and Werribee on July 18.
Your quick action in ringing the Wyndham council ranger had Jasper back home with us within an hour.
We were looking after him while my daughter and family were away. I cried when the ranger brought him home. He is a very much-loved family dog.
It proves the value of having your pets microchipped and registered with
the council.
Margaret Just, Tarneit
Puppy farming must be stopped
Puppy farms should not be allowed to exist anywhere in Wyndham (Diseased, injured dogs rescued from puppy farm, Star Weekly online, July 22).
When the vet finds animals in such horrific physical state in a place that Wyndham council has said is “acceptable”, it’s very clear that the current regulations are grossly inappropriate and too far in favour of the abusers instead of the abused. This must be addressed.

Those who treat these precious souls with such disrespect, abusing them and profiting from their pain, should be locked up.
