Werribee Centrals have risen to the challenge of close rival Anakie to keep their Geelong and District Football League finals chances alive.
The Centurions had many challenges thrown their way during three cagey quarters before lifting in the last term to storm to a 23-point win, kicking four of the last five goals of the match.
The telling move was that of Phil Jones to the forward line, with the mobile tall snaring three majors to break the game open. The Centurions have seven wins and remain a game out of the five.
They will return home to Galvin Park on Saturday for a crunch game against fifth-placed Winchelsea.
