Learn to play the harmonica

Show off your soulful side at Penrose Community Hub’s Harmonica Blues for Beginners class on Sunday, August 3. Participants can expect to get to know a C-key harp and how to control their breath for a sweet sad sound. It will be held from 3-5.30pm.

Concert band

Show your support for the Werribee Concert Band at Stage to Screen, a fund-raising gala from 7pm on Saturday, July 26, at the Wyndham Cultural Centre. The band will be joined by guest artists.

Plant a tree

Get into nature by taking part in a tree planting day at Riverbend Historical Park, along the Werribee River, on Saturday, July  27. The event, part of National Tree Day, will be held from 10.30am-noon.

Craft group

Wyndham Patchwork meets at Manor Lakes Community Centre on the second Saturday of each month from 11.30am-3.30pm.

Barefoot bowls

Give barefoot bowls a go at the Werribee Bowls Club. Social games are held on Wednesday and Saturday.

Anger management classes

Laverton Community Centre and Neighbourhood House will run women’s anger management, self-esteem and assertion courses, starting on August 12. There are also courses in meditation and for those struggling with mental health. The centre is in Laverton Community Hub, corner of Railway Avenue and Crown Street.

Antiques fair

Hoppers Crossing Rotary Club’s antique and collectables fair is on at the civic centre, 45 Princes Highway, Werribee, from Friday, July 18-Sunday, July 20. Open from 6-9pm on July 18, 10am-5pm on July 19 and 10am-4pm on July 20. Admission is $10.
