A 24-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing has been charged in relation to two armed robberies at Werribee Plaza last week.
He was charged by detectives from the Altona North Embona Taskforce with two counts of armed robbery and one count of robbery.
Police allege a man entered the Myer store at Werribee Plaza about 4.30pm on Wednesday, July 2, pulled a bandana over his face and produced a small handgun from his pocket.
They said he approached a female shop attendant at the cosmetics counter and told her he would shoot her if she didn’t give him money from the till.
As the woman was opening the till, the man stepped behind her and held a pair of scissors at her back.
He again threatened her and demanded she open the till.
He ran from the store empty-handed when he saw a co-worker of the woman attempting to call triple-0.
Police allege the robber later met another man in a small park area in Barber Drive, Hoppers Crossing.
The two men are alleged to have assaulted a 19-year-old Hoppers Crossing man and demanded he hand over money.
