PIANO MAGIC HITS THE NOTE

A magic piano at the centre of a local production will delight audiences who want to see childhood dreams come to life.

The latest production at the Wyndham Cultural Centre,

Still Awake Still!, starts on Saturday, July 5, and is a unique music theatre show for families.

It’s based on original lullabies by popular children’s author Elizabeth Honey and Sue Johnson of the acclaimed vocal group Coco’s Lunch.

Miss Ivory Tinklefinger, Queen of Sleep, is hired to sing the audience to sleep but her extraordinary piano has a mind of its own. Her lullabies come alive and the consequences are wild!

Still Awake Still! is part cabaret and part theatre, with a touch of surreal pantomime . . . the entire show emerges like magic from beneath the lid of a grand piano.

The Melbourne cast includes brilliant and hilarious actor-musicians Carolyn Connors, Dan Witton and Renato Vacirca and is directed by the celebrated Jessica Wilson.

Producer Rosalind Price says: “

Still Awake Still! is not really about sleep; it celebrates the kind of playfulness that’s at the heart of creative life for everyone.”

Shows are on at 10.30am and 1pm on Saturday, July 5, at Wyndham Cultural Centre, Werribee. Inquiries:
