GOOD BEER WEEK: Danish party brewing at Werribee hotel

The Danes will invade Werribee’s Park Hotel next week to celebrate all things beer.

To mark Good Beer Week, the pub is playing host to Danish breweries, allowing their beers to take over its taps for a week.

The pub will also host two five-course degustation dinners, pairing traditional Danish cooking with the beers.

Operations manager Joey Rowlings said the pub decided to base the week around a Danish invasion to give customers “something different”.

“Being a pub, we don’t have the facilities to brew our own beer so we decided to do something different,” he said.

“Denmark is in the same situation as Australia, where craft beer is just taking off.”

The pub has been planning for Good Beer Week for eight months, using an import company to help it choose the beers to bring to Australia.

Three of the breweries involved in the week have never previously had their beers poured in Australia.

Places are still available for the degustation dinner on May 21.
