Werribee was unable to make the most of a fast start against Ringwood in Big V men’s basketball on Saturday night.
The Devils gave up a 15-point quarter-time lead for a 72-78 loss.
Werribee managed only 10 points in the final term, shooting at a disappointing rate of three from 17 from the field and zero from three from beyond the three-point line.
There were no such problems for Ringwood, which collected its 10th win of the season.
Jordan Hughes worked hard for the Devils, finishing with 21 points.
Also impressive for Werribee were Aaron McCuin and Jonathan Sonda, who both achieved double-doubles.
The weekend’s loss dropped Werribee from seventh to 10th on the ladder. The Devils will look to rebound this week when they take on fifth-placed Hume City.
