Fight animal cruelty
Grab your pooch and head to Wyndham Vale’s Presidents Park for the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk. The walk, from 10am this Sunday, will raise money to fight animal cruelty and help animals being cared for by the RSPCA.

Anger management
A six-week course for men at Laverton Community Centre and Neighbourhood House will provide tips for controlling anger. Participants will discuss reasons for anger and why it is a problem; mentors will explain exercises to help manage the anger. From 6.30pm tomorrow. Cost: $100.
Stamp out homophobia
Wyndham council’s International Day Against Homophobia celebration will be at the civic centre from 1.30-3pm this Friday. Included will be stories from the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer community and the raising of a rainbow flag.

Charity tennis match
Show your support for cancer research by taking part in Werribee Central Tennis Club’s annual women’s “cuppa for cancer” round-robin event. The doubles competition, for players of all abilities, is on May 22 from 9.30am at the club’s Shaws Road courts. Entry: $5.

Support group
The Werribee and Districts Cancer Support Group meets on the third Tuesday of every month, offering help and advice to cancer patients, their carers, family and friends. The next meeting is on May 20.

Broadband for seniors
Werribee Men’s Shed is looking for volunteer trainers to teach seniors how to use computers. It’s an introductory course, covering basic Windows, Word, email and internet use. Tutors need to be available for half a day every week.

Wyndham Patchwork meets at Manor Lakes Community Centre on the second Saturday of each month, 11.30am-3.30pm. A “sit and sew” day is held on the fourth Saturday of the month, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Cost: $4.

Morning tea
Drop in to Quantin Binnah Community Centre in Werribee for a “biggest morning tea” and help raise money for the Cancer Council. The morning tea is on May 21 at the centre’s Cafe QB and costs $5.
