Grab your pooch and head to Wyndham Vale’s Presidents Park for the annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk. The walk, from 10am on May 18, is to raise money to fight animal cruelty and help animals being cared for by the RSPCA.

Stamp out homophobia
Wyndham council’s International Day Against Homophobia celebration is at the civic centre from 1.30-3pm on May 16. Included will be stories from the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer community and the raising of a rainbow flag.

Charity tennis match
Show your support for cancer research by taking part in Werribee Central Tennis Club’s annual women’s ‘‘cuppa for cancer’’ round robin event. The doubles competition, for players of all abilities, is on May 22 from 9.30am at the club’s Shaws Road courts. Entry: $5.

Anger management
A six-week course for men at Laverton Community Centre and Neighbourhood House will provide tips for controlling anger. Participants will discuss reasons for anger and why it is a problem, and mentors will provide them with exercises to help manage the anger. From 6.30pm on May 15. Cost: $100.
Broadband for seniors
Werribee Men’s Shed is looking for volunteer trainers to teach seniors how to use a computer. It’s an introductory course, covering basic Windows, Word, email and internet use. Tutors need to be available for a half a day every week.

Talent competition
Think you’ve got what it takes to be a star? Head to Wyndham Vale Community Learning Centre next Monday for the local heat of the Africa’s Got Talent competition. From 4pm. Heats are open to singers, dancers, actors, rappers and poets of African descent, aged 16-30. Winners will perform at the final in Fitzroy on May 24.
