Police officer injured after car rammed in Hoppers Crossing

A police officer was taken to hospital after his vehicle was rammed by a car in Hoppers Crossing on Monday evening.

Police spotted a red sedan travelling at high speed on Derrimut Road in Hoppers Crossing.

Police say the car was later discovered in Paloma Court at about 5.30pm Monday.

While officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, the sedan reversed into the side of a police car and drove off, police say.

A male officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators are searching for a late model Ford Falcon FG XR6 sedan.
