Racing made its return to Wyndham on Sunday for the Werribee Cup.
The 2600-metre race was won by Pelicano, a year after losing as odds-on favourite.
The Tony McEvoy-trained horse beat Hurdy Gurdy Man and Unchain My Heart to win the $120,000 race.
Away from the track, Brooke Strahan took out first place in the Fashions on the Field competition, while Ben Carbonaro was named best- dressed man.
The cup, which was rescheduled from November 13 because of problems with the track, coincided with Werribee Racing Club’s Christmas party day and attracted thousands of racegoers.
