There was plenty of Christmas cheer at Point Cook last Saturday as thousands of people gathered at Breezewater Reserve for the annual Christmas at the Lakes festival.
The event featured performances by local schools, singers and dancers, children’s rides and a fireworks display.
Among those soaking up the festive atmosphere were Anna Allen and her daughter, Ava, 5 (pictured).
Christmas at the Lakes chairman Bruce Cahoon said surplus funds from the event would be donated to local groups including the Point Cook CFA.
This Saturday, singers will converge on the lawn at Werribee Park for the Wyndham Combined Churches’ carols by candlelight. The evening will include a live nativity scene featuring camels and donkeys.
Gates open at 5.30pm, with the first singers taking to the stage at 8pm. Tickets are $10 and available at the gate. Children aged 12 years and under are free.
