Point Cook’s Emmy Thompson and jolly old St Nick are warming their voices for Saturday’s Christmas at the Lakes festival.
Sanctuary Lakes’ Breezewater Reserve will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland for the eighth annual carols event.
Santa and Thompson will be joined by performers and students, with Carranballac College starting the show at 5pm.
The festival will also feature children’s rides, an animal farm, food and craft stalls and a fireworks display.
Christmas at the Lakes chairman Bruce Cahoon said the event had become important to the community, with profits donated to local groups.
“Since the beginning, surplus funds raised at the event have been pledged to worthy causes such as Whitelion, which supports displaced young people in the community, the Point Cook CFA, Point Cook Lions and Rotary clubs,’’ he said.
“We have committed to support these organisations again in 2013.”
Free shuttle buses will run from Sanctuary Lakes shopping centre, Point Cook town centre and Sanctuary Lakes South Boulevard.
