Two Hoppers Crossing Secondary College students have been recognised for their leadership skills, receiving Long Tan awards from the Australian Defence Force.
The awards are designed to encourage leadership and teamwork among students and enhance their community involvement while raising awareness of the ADF.
Year 10 student Toby Armour and year 12 student Brittany Sutherland were among more than 3500 students across Australia to receive Long Tan awards this year. Brittany has been involved in student leadership roles since year 8 and was named school captain this year.
Toby has been involved in leadership programs since year 9 and will be the school’s vice-captain next year.
“[The award] serves as reassurance that the hard work I have put in during my time at Hoppers Crossing Secondary College has not gone unnoticed,” Brittany said.
