A $1.23 million extension that has allowed Quantin Binnah Kindergarten to increase places from 33 to 61 was officially opened last Wednesday.
Chloe and Maddison joined classmates to put on a show for Children and Early Childhood Development Minister Wendy Lovell, who opened the kinder’s third room during a visit to Werribee.
The additional room means the centre can offer 15 hours of kindergarten to children in the year before school. An outdoor area was also upgraded as part of the development.
The government provided $300,000 for the extension, with Wyndham council and the kinder investing $975,000 and $3000 respectively.
Ms Lovell said it was important children had access to quality kindergarten services.
“Ninety-five per cent of a child’s brain develops in the first five years … we can make a real difference to a child’s life.”
