Heathdale Christian College teacher Anne Stone (pictured) walked out of a classroom for the last time on Friday, ending a 40-year career.
Mrs Stone has worked at kindergartens throughout Wyndham, including Woodville and Yerambooee, helping to shape early childhood education in the city.
She also helped set up kindergarten classes at Heathdale.
Mrs Stone says the secret to her long career was always listening to children and enjoying her work. Surrounded by former colleagues, pupils and Heathdale’s current kindergarten classes, she was farewelled at an afternoon tea on Friday.
