EAST WERRIBEE: TOO MUCH, TOO SOON (Weekly, October 16)

Why do we keep expanding the suburbs but not fix up the infrastructure? There are not enough roads and public transport in the west and this only brings more congestion to the West Gate. How about money for schools and hospitals in the west, too?

You can’t have more jobs and job centres if you don’t provide the necessary services.

TIP MOUNTAIN (Weekly, October 30)

If Cr Bob Fairclough genuinely planned to take the issues raised in the petition into account, why did he and the majority of councillors vote to triple the size of the waste mountain instead of leaving this decision until after the “reference group” had met. There is limited purpose in having this reference group when the decisions to expand the tip above ground have already been made. It’s yet another example of council’s inability to listen to the community or properly consult ratepayers – just like the inappropriate sackings or conducting its own survey of resident satisfaction because it didn’t like being rated as the poorest council last year.

MY SHOUT (Weekly, October 23)

The difference between we climate change deniers and you fear-mongering believers is that deniers don’t think 30 years of scientists agreeing it could be a crisis is a good enough reason to believe in condemning billions of helpless children to a CO2 crisis.

Not one IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) warning says anything beyond “could be” a crisis. You say it will be a crisis while science only says it could be a crisis. How is this not pure fear mongering on your part, doomers?
