Parrots, platypuses on Carranballac curriculum

Carranballac College’s Alexis, 11, spent last Friday brushing up on her teaching skills ahead of Melbourne Water’s Kids Teaching Kids conference.

Alexis and her classmates  joined pupils from Manor Lakes College at the conference on Monday and yesterday.

Carranballac pupils led a workshop about orange-bellied parrots, while Manor Lakes College ran a workshop about platypuses.

Melbourne Water chairman Paul Clark said the event gave pupils a chance to come up with imaginative ways to look after the environment.
