The Sanctuary Lakes Foundation annual golf day is on Friday at the Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club.
The initial aim of the foundation was to provide financial help to elite young golfers at the club.
That aim has since broadened to provide support for junior development across all sports in the western suburbs.
“We’ve supported golfers, tennis players, footballers, soccer players and athletes,” foundation chairman Kevin Halsted said.
“One of our previous success stories is Stacey Keating, a talented young golfer who, with our support, was able to transition to become a professional.”
The golf day raised over $22,000 in 2012 and the foundation is hoping to pass that mark this year.
