India’s most popular festival is coming to Wyndham. Werribee Park will light up next month, when the city hosts its first Diwali festival.
Wyndham Diwali team member Lakshmi Nookala says the festival of lights is being organised to promote multiculturalism and unity through special partnerships.
“There are various organisations performing which hail from non-Indian cultural backgrounds,” he said.
The festival will feature performances from bands, drama groups and dancers showcasing jazz, salsa and bhangra.
There will also be children’s rides, henna tattooing, face painting and market stalls. The festival is on November 2 from 10am-8pm.
