Man charged after Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook pursuit

A man is facing several charges after a police pursuit through the west.

The pursuit started when police tried to pull over a car with false number plates in Hoppers Crossing about 9pm on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old driver then led police on a chase, including on the wrong side of the Princes Freeway.

Police stopped the pursuit when it became too dangerous, but later found the car at a Point Coook house and arrested the driver, who had a disqualified probationary permit.

The Airport West man was charged with conduct endangering life, evading police, driving on the wrong side of the road and various other traffic-related offences.

He is due to appear in court on Thursday.
