Wyndham residents can express their cultural pride at the first Emerge in Wyndham Festival on Saturday.
Events will showcase refugee and emerging communities who call the municipality home. Performers will include Karen and Bollywood dancers, African singers and Ethiopian contortionist Soliana Ersie, who performs with her Hoppers Crossing brother, Teame.
There will be crafts from Burma, Sudan and Papua New Guinea on show and food from Sudan, Mauritius, Ethiopia and Burma.
Cr Gautam Gupta said the festival was a chance for Wyndham residents to experience a taste of the world without leaving the city.
The free festival is at the Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton Street, Werribee, from 12-5pm.
