Wyndham All Abilities Football Club has claimed its fifth premiership in the Football Integration Development Association.
The Tigers defeated Parkside by 24 points in a one-sided division 2 grand final at Central Reserve in Altona.
The side, coached by Paul Barrett and assisted by Dwayne Templeton and Jamie Mifsud, held Parkside goalless over the opening three quarters to lead by39 points.
Parkside tried hard in the final term, but the Tigers lead was too great and they held on to pick up their first flag since 2010.
Wyndham has been part of the FIDA competition for 23 years.
Located in Hoppers Crossing, the Tigers are made up of 25 intellectually disabled men aged between 14 and 45.
Club president Rhonda Templeton said that an influx of new players this season made the team a force once more.
“It has turned the club around to be able to achieve another premiership.
“We have a lot of great supporters, which are family and friends,
that come along to training and games to barrack their hearts out to
inspire the guys,” Templeton said.
