Wyndham outdoor art plan scrapped

WYNDHAM council has abandoned plans to commission art to be displayed outside the civic centre.

The council set aside $168,000 as part of the centre’s 2012 redevelopment.

A further $35,000 was spent on art for inside the centre.

But at Monday’s council meeting, councillors voted not to buy pieces for outside the centre, acknowledging that spending money on large works in non-community locations was a low priority for many ratepayers.
