Premier opens Wyndham Private Medical Centre

PREMIER Denis Napthine has used the opening of a $30 million privately funded medical centre in Werribee to spruik his government’s commitment to the East Werribee Employment Precinct.

Dr Napthine opened the Wyndham Private Medical Centre on Thursday during a Werribee visit that included the opening of Western Metropolitan Liberal MP Andrew Elsbury’s new electorate office.

The medical centre, which opened its doors last May, offers Wyndham residents improved access to GPs, dentists and specialist services including pathology and IVF.

Dr Napthine said Wyndham Private would become part of a new medical precinct including Wyndham Clinic and Day Surgery, an expanded mental health facility at Werribee Mercy Hospital and the proposed St Vincents Private Hospital.

“The centre will be a part of Melbourne’s new west – a mixed-use precinct accommodating more than 50,000 new jobs, 7000 new dwellings and a residential population of approximately 15,500  people.”
