A TEENAGER has been arrested over almost a dozen aggravated burglaries across Point Cook.
Police allege the Sunshine man, 19, arrested on Friday morning, is responsible for 11 burglaries spanning a 10-day period earlier this month.
He will face Sunshine Magistrates Court at a later date on charges of burglary, aggravated burglary, theft, theft of a motor vehicle and traffic offences.
Wyndham’s Detective Jade Gercovich said residents had been home sleeping during the burglaries, most of which happened overnight.
Police will allege the teen ransacked the houses for mobile phones, TVs, laptop computers and jewellery.
Detective Senior Sergeant Johnston said many of the houses that were broken into had their doors unlocked.
“It’s really an invitation to would-be burglars,” he said. “It’d be really helpful if people would lock up their homes overnight, but not deadlocked so you can still get out in an emergency.”
