YOUTHS at risk of homelessness are being given the chance to put their kickboxing skills to the test.
Hoppers Crossing’s Ultimate Kickboxing is joining with UnitingCare Werribee Support and Housing to offer disengaged young people free classes for six weeks.
Ultimate Kickboxing’s Ash Appleby hopes the classes will have an impact on the youths’ lives.
“I’ve had a lot of troubled kids in here and I have seen the difference kickboxing and Muay Thai makes. It teaches them discipline.”
Ms Guerrieri says the classes are about giving young people an opportunity to try programs they otherwise couldn’t afford to join.
She hopes the classes will teach them to remain active and give them self-confidence.
