A HOPPERS Crossing motorist has had her licence reinstated, more than two years after she recorded what’s believed to have been Victoria’s second-highest ever blood-alcohol concentration for a woman.
The 38-year-old lost her licence in 2010 after being caught behind the wheel with a reading of .313 – more than six times the legal limit.
She told Werribee Magistrates Court last week that she had abstained from alcohol for two years, but said she would previously consume “about 70” standard drinks per occasion.
She had undergone a 90-day treatment program and was attending regular therapy sessions.
The woman applied to have her licence reinstated last Wednesday after being off the road for two years. She was ordered to have an alcohol-interlock device installed in her car for at least six months, and put on a zero-alcohol regimen for three years.
