Tarneit P-plater grounded

A TARNEIT P-plater will be off the road for six months after failing to stop for police and using false registration plates.

Colin Smith, 27, was pursued by police while driving on Sayers Road, Tarneit, on February 27.

Police had ascertained the number plates didn’t match the vehicle. Werribee Magistrates Court heard Smith led police in a brief pursuit along Tarneit Road before eventually pulling over.

His car was impounded for 30 days.

Magistrate John Bentley imposed a $1500 fine and banned Wilkinson from driving for six months.
