FORMER Melbourne Storm boss Ron Gauci has taken the reins at Sanctuary Lakes golf club as it appointed its first independent board of directors.
The new board took control of the club last week, ending two years of negotiation.
Mr Gauci was chief executive and managing director of the rugby league club until last May. He said the new directors would build on a strong sense of club and community spirit.
“Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club has a strong link to the local and wider community at a business and community level, having raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities in the past 12 years.”
