Wild nights at the zoo are so cool

WYNDHAM may be shivering through its coldest July nights in years, but that hasn’t stopped thousands from taking a walk on the wild side at Werribee Open Range Zoo.

Every night until July 13, the zoo will come to life from 5.30pm-8.30pm, with fire shows, animal encounters, shadow puppet theatre and a look at the cute and creepy creatures of the night.

Marshmallow toasting runs throughout the night and warm winter fare including hearty soups are on offer at the Meerkat Bistro.

‘‘Wild Nights’’ are free for children under 15.  Details: zoo.org.au/Werribee
