WERRIBEE has split its weekend double-header in the Hockey Victoria men’s Vic League 1.
The Tigers were on a high on Saturday after edging Albury-Wodonga 1-0 in the wet at President’s Park.
There were scenes of jubilation at the final whistle after Jayden Street’s goal proved the difference on a day when defences came out on top.
On Sunday, it was a vastly different game and outcome for the Tigers.
They lost to Casey with an ugly 6-3 scoreline.
The Tigers sit eighth on the ladder ahead of the Queen’s Birthday break.
In the women’s Vic League 2, Werribee made it seven wins on the trot with a 9-0 drubbing of RMIT at President’s Park.
The Tigers’ defence has been stingy in recent times, keeping its opposition goalless in each of the past four matches.
Brittany McIntyre and Mel Stewart scored doubles in the Tiger rout.
