Grounded in gospel values and the tradition of St Mary of the Cross, MacKillop Catholic Regional College strives to encourage individuals to reach their potential as lifelong learners.
“We do this by providing an innovative, challenging and collaborative learning and teaching environment within a rapidly evolving society,” says principal Rory Kennedy.
“Our college has outstanding facilities complemented by beautifully maintained gardens, sports fields and recreational areas. Our emphasis on contemporary learning strategies is supported by up-to-date and extensive digital infrastructure.”
The college has a wireless/hard wire network in all classrooms. A dedicated ICCT centre provides students and staff with a fully wireless system, specialised video and podcasting studios, green-screen animation workspace and the 1:1 Notebook program.
MacKillop’s learning areas include a science wing, a 400-seat auditorium in the performing arts complex, a sports centre with gymnasium and a creative arts centre.
A comprehensive curriculum includes a Gifted and Talented program and support to students who experience learning difficulties.
The dedicated Year 9 campus has programs that foster links with the community.
Pathways available to senior students through VCE, VCAL and VET subjects continue to diversify with the SEDA Sport Development Partnership Program, and Partnership for a Trade Training Centre to be built this year.
