New-look market Coles boosts jobs

Coles Tarneit West opened its doors to the new-look market-style supermarket on April 23 bringing 135 new jobs to the local community.

It’s one of more than 70 Coles stores across Australia to launch the affordable MIX clothing range which caters to a variety of customers. And MIX pieces won’t break the budget with most items under $25.

In addition to MIX, shoppers at Tarneit West will have access to a range of fresh produce – on ice for maximum freshness – with 96 per cent of fruit and vegies Aussie-grown.

Local supplier John Said grows six varieties of lettuce, four of cauliflower, broccoli and baby broccoli and has supplied to Coles from his Werribee shop for more than 15 years.

But the exciting changes don’t stop there. An in-store bakery with a team of four, led by baker of 12 years Viviana, will prepare the Coles signature range of bread daily, authentic Turkish bread, muffins and cob loaves.

And meat manager Marty heads up the new butcher department with a team of four. Customers can choose fresh meat, including beef, straight from the cutting table.

The delicatessen will be stocked with Aussie cheeses and locally sourced seafood, while the antipasto bar is sure to have something for your next party.

Coles Tarneit West store manager Tony Baldassaro said he looked forward to welcoming shoppers and invited customers to experience the new store’s fresh offerings for the first time. “The in-store innovations reflect our customers’ needs and feedback, providing them with the quality products and delicious produce they want.”

Coles Tarneit West, Tarneit West Village, corner Hogan’s and Tarneit roads, Tarneit, opens 6am-midnight daily.
