Two face attack charges
Two men have been charged over a vicious attack at a Maribyrnong hotel that left two friends with their faces gashed and bleeding. The pair, aged 24 and 25, of Burnside, were arrested over an attack on a Werribee man and Melton West man at Anglers Tavern on April 20. The 24-year-old was charged with affray, assault with a weapon, intentionally causing serious injury and related counts. The other man is facing charges of affray, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon. The Melton West man suffered disfiguring injuries after being struck with a glass during the incident, which took place at an engagement party. His friend suffered a facial injury and was taken to hospital.
Help sought over carjacking
Police are seeking information about a man involved in a brazen carjacking in Footscray last Thursday. The man climbed into a BMW outside Footscray Market just after 1pm and demanded a 31-year-old Point Cook woman drive to an Ascot Vale ATM, where she handed over cash to the man who then fled.
