Tributes flow for Werribee man stabbed on night out

FRIENDS and family of murdered Werribee man Shaun Wright attended a funeral service at Werribee racecourse last Wednesday morning.

Tributes have been flowing on social media for the former MacKillop College student since he died in Fitzroy on March 17 after being stabbed during a night out with friends.

Police have charged Fatah Issah, 25, of Preston, with Mr Wright’s murder.

Issah faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on March 20. The court heard that Mr Wright (pictured) was chased hundreds of metres through the streets of Fitzroy before he was killed.

Police asked for 12 weeks to prepare a brief for the case, saying the matter involved extensive CCTV footage of the incident and the chase.

Issah did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to reappear in court in July.
