Re: Divert road cash to relieve snarls (Weekly, March 13):

It is not true the Labor government has done nothing. Enough care was taken to call them “Victorian” policies rather than “Labor” policies. Unfortunately, the resolution of the transport problem is a human/geography issue as well. The issue is how to re-distribute transport patterns to avoid the hub-and-spoke situation and movement of passengers away from the CBD by attracting jobs to inland or dry ports and planning around these inland freight terminals.

Surely the removal of level crossings is something we can all agree on, as it benefits both road and rail users.

Re: Council rejects plea for Werribee CCTV (Weekly, March 13):

I believe this council is too blase. CCTV should be installed in a few areas around Wyndham. Often I’m out walking and I’m concerned about my safety.

I can’t believe what I am reading! I am from Perth and we here have been following the Jill Meagher case closely. Surely in circumstances like this, and with police support, all mayors would be wanting to look after the community and ensure the safety of everyone.

Re: Elsbury ‘on shaky electoral ground’ (Weekly, March 13):

Wade Noonan, like all Labor MPs, should focus on producing policies acceptable to the public, instead of taking the easy option of making cheap shots at opponents.
