SANCTUARY Lakes is holding up the ladder after one weekend of the Golf Victoria men’s division 1 pennant.
The Lakes went down six matches to one against last year’s runner-up Commonwealth in a one-sided season opener at the Southern Golf Club on Sunday.
Brent O’Donaghue was the Lakes only victor, defeating Commonwealth captain Matt Hinkley.
In the colts division 1, Sanctuary Lakes made a much better start, downing Kingswood three matches to two.
Lakes captain Ben Lowe got off to a winning start, along with teammates Nathan Kungl and Paulo Riccardi.
