Re: Werribee train line crush worsens for commuters (Weekly, February 13):

They’ve been leaving a road as a single lane for 10 years, continually patching it and ignoring the multitude of new estates built on it. Then there’s the fact there are three major schools within 500 metres of each other. Yeah you know what I’m taking about, Sayers Road! Fix it, we’re becoming peak prisoners in our own neighbourhood.

Re: Next, outdoor diners will have to butt out (Weekly, February 13):

How many times does a person have to walk around in the city, along the pedestrian footpaths, and get caught by the filthy, dirty and second-hand smoke from the person in front.

It is time the government bans this filthy habit.

If you want to smoke, poison yourself and your family in your own home.

Teachers strike: Rolling stoppages from term two (Weekly online, February 15): Typical disgraceful behaviour from a trade union. Teachers obviously have no qualms about abandoning their students in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. They already have far better working conditions than everybody else and are paid quite handsomely. Far more than the vast majority of workers. Why couldn’t they protest on one of the days during their 10 weeks annual leave?
