Drawing a blank for art

WHAT do street artists do if they can’t find a wall to paint on? Create one, of course.

Next month will see the unveiling of the Street SmART Portawall at Laverton’s Woods Street Art Space.

Curator Katherine Dine (pictured with artwork) says that faced with a lack of walls to paint, the Street SmART collective decided to build a portable wall.

Eight blocks, which join to form a giant puzzle, can be flipped around to reveal different artworks. Artists worked on the designs with prominent local street artist Marine.

The unveiling is on February 9 from 2-4pm.
